Revolut Launches Its Own ATMs in Spain — Fee-Free Withdrawals, Smart FX, and Physical Cards Dispensed Instantly

Revolut is bridging the gap between digital finance and real-world convenience with the launch of its first branded ATM network, rolling out across Spain. This marks the fintech’s first foray into physical banking infrastructure — and it’s far from ordinary.

ATMs, Reimagined

Revolut’s new machines offer a sleek, digital-first experience that challenges traditional ATM design. Customers will benefit from:

  • Unlimited free ATM withdrawals for Revolut users
  • Competitive FX rates when withdrawing in foreign currencies
  • Instant physical card dispensing for new users
  • Contactless cash access via mobile wallets
  • Future support for deposits and biometric login

With a 32-inch touchscreen, multi-language interface, and advanced security (including upcoming facial recognition), the experience is intuitive, accessible, and fast — a major upgrade from outdated, fee-laden ATMs.

First in Spain — But Not the Last

Spain has been chosen as the launch market, with the first 50 ATMs installed in Madrid and Barcelona, followed by another 150 in Valencia, Málaga, and other cities. The move aligns with local demand — over 60% of point-of-sale payments in Spain are still made in cash, according to the Bank of Spain.

Revolut already has nearly 5 million Spanish users, making it one of its strongest European markets. A wider rollout to Germany, Italy, and Portugal is planned for 2026 and beyond.

Smart Travel Money — for Everyone

Revolut users withdrawing abroad (e.g. a UK user withdrawing EUR in Spain) get Revolut’s competitive exchange rates — no hidden fees. That’s a major improvement over traditional ATMs, which often charge high fees and poor FX rates.

Even non-Revolut users can use the machines for a small fee. They’ll soon be able to choose between their bank’s FX rate or Revolut’s real-time conversion at the ATM via Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC). Plus, anyone can open a Revolut account directly at the ATM and receive a physical card on the spot.

Features at a Glance

  • Unlimited free withdrawals for Revolut customers

Why This Matters

ATMs have long lagged behind in innovation. With this move, Revolut positions itself not just as a digital banking app, but as a fintech with a physical footprint, offering better service to travelers, expats, locals, and non-customers alike.

The company’s strategy is clear: own the full financial experience — from app to street corner.
